The Mockingbirds of Maycomb
Boo Radley, hes just like a mockingbird. He does nothing but help people. He's alwalys afraid that society will shun him down, kill him. They never get to see the nice, good side of Boo Radley. Atticus is also like a mockingbird, just doing what he thought was right by defending Tom. Still, the town scolded him and made him feel like he was worth nothing. He always did what he believed though, and i respect greatly him for that.
Boo?!
As it turns out, Bob Ewell killed himself. Or at least thats wat Mr. Tate says. I know it was Boo Radley. He saves us all the time. First, he put things in a tree for me and Jem. He covered me in a blanket when I was cold. Lastly, he saved me and Jem from Bob Ewell. If it wasn't for him, me and Jem probably would have died. I am so thankfull for Boo, I didn't even Know how to thank him. I was hoping after this that we would see him more. However, after that one day, he was still locked up in his house.
The Scariest Halloween
This Halloween was a scary one that will haunt me forever. It didn't start out bad. The kids of Maycomb were all in a play to keep the children out of trouble. I was a ham. After the play was over me and Jem started walking home but Jem started to hear a noise. Turns out it was Mr. Bob Ewell trying to get revenge. I was so scared. I thought Jem was dead and that was making me nervous. We went back home and Jem was just unconcious and had a broken elbow. We also found out Bob Ewell was dead. We thought Jem killed him but i knew that wasn't true.
R.I.P. Tom Robinson
Tom Robinson died. It hit us all very hard. Especially Atticus. He was upset enough about losing the case, but now his client is dead. He was trying to escape. I found out when I was at a brunch with Aunt Alexandra. She was trying to make me lady-like, but when she found out he died she just lost it also. She was crying. It was really weird seeing someone like her crying. It was just a hard day for everyone.
Guilty?
After we left the courtroom, we where all confused. No one understood how they could do this. They knew he was innocent. How could they convict a man that is clearly innocent? I didn’t want to do anything to upset Atticus, but I was just so upset. I had no idea what to do. Should I talk to him and try to comfort him? Or should I just leave him alone?
Atticus's Case
Me, Jem, and Dill decided to go into the courtroom to watch Atticus’s case. I soon relized we were far from wining. However, I thought the points Atticus was making either made sence, or had nothing to do with the case whatsoever. I didn’t know where he was going with most of his points. However, afterwards he started to make sence.
After everyone testified, the jury left for a while. I thought they were considering letting Tom Robinson innocent. However, after a few hours they declared him guilty as charged. It was horrible.

I Was Just Saying Hi...
One night, I heard Jem shuffling around and I knew he was going out. I do not like when he does that but of course I have to go with him. We went downtown and Jem, Dill, and I saw Atticus with a bunch of people. I figured he'd want to see me so I ran ahead of Dill and Jem and said hi to Atticus. He seemed upset and not happy. I was confused. I realized these people were strangers and weren’t our friends. I wondered what they were talking about I wanted to ask Atticus about it later.
I felt a little bit embarrassed saying hi to Atticus, also when I tried to say hi to Mr. Cunningham, he didn’t respond at all. It made me feel stupid like I wasn’t supposed to say anything. It made me upset and I asked Atticus about it and he said not to worry.
